Word Of The Week: Abraham’s Blessings- Galatians 3:9
So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. Galatians 3:9
Meditation/Action
Abraham had faith in God. Because of his faith, he became a friend of God and he was counted as righteous before God. God made promises to him at a time it looked humanly impossible. He did not consider the prevailing adverse circumstances, but chose to believe God the Maker of Heaven and earth in whom lies all power. His faith drew him very close to God and he became God’s friend.
Faith is simply believing God. It is believing that God will do what He said He would do, however bad or impossible the situation may look. That was exactly what Abraham did. Often times we talk about Abraham’s promises and we claim it. We sing it in songs. But are we ready to believe like Abraham did? Are we ready to ignore everything that would want to oppose our faith and focus only on the faithful God?
The Scripture says that if we believe, we will share in the blessings of Abraham. It’s easier to believe than not to. It’s rewarding to believe than not to. Believing grants us our expectations while unbelief denies us. Abraham took the easy and rewarding way which is the path of faith. If we call ourselves Abraham’s children, we must follow the same path. And if we follow the same path, we will also partake of the blessings and promises God made to him.
