Word Of The Week: Ask In Faith
Without faith, we can't please God. That underlies how crucial faith is in our journey with God. Our relationship with Him begins with faith and thrives in faith. No great relationship can one have with God if there is no faith. Faith is needed in every phase of our journey with Him. When it comes to prayer, faith is the catalyst our petitions require to manifest.
James 1:6 says when we come before God in prayer, we should ask in faith: "But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind." One praying without faith is like sea wave driven and tossed by the wind, going in no particular direction and nowhere. Jesus said whenever we pray, we should pray in faith, and whatever we ask believing, we shall receive.
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:24
Approach the throne of grace with boldness of faith. That's what God is looking for- faith. Make your petitions known to God with full assurance of faith. Don't be scared to believe. Faith does not fail. It doesn't disappoint. Neither does it put us to shame. The book of Hebrews calls it the evidence of what you're asking for. That is to say, if you have faith, you'll have what you're asking for. It is what you need to receive from God. Faith honours God. God honours faith. Approach God in faith. Ask in faith.
