Word Of The Week: Ask- 1 John 5:14
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us. 1 John 5:14
Meditation/Action
Prayer is one of the greatest privileges in the Christian faith. It is a rare privilege in God’s Kingdom which we enjoy as His children. Unlike the gods of this world, as believers we have direct access to God through prayer. When we pray, we communicate with Him. That’s what prayer is- communication with God.
God asks us to pray. He wants us to tell Him everything. Even though He already knows, He still wants to hear it from us. He derives pleasure in His children talking to Him about their needs, their feelings, what they think and what bothers them. He wants us to tell Him everything- the big issues as well as the so-called ‘small things’. And if God commands us to pray, it means He is ready to listen and answer.
Let prayer be a lifestyle. Instead of worry and trying to handle it by yourself, go to God in prayer. Ask because He will answer. In Matthew 7:7 Jesus tells us to ask and receive. So ask and receive. Ask and you’ll have it. 1 John 5:14 says we have the confidence of answered prayer in our God and Father. This confidence gives us the boldness to approach Him in faith. We go to God in full assurance of faith that He will answer us according to His will. Approach God in faith and confidence and receive what you’re asking for. Our prayers are never in vain. Come before God asking and He will answer. Ask!
