Word Of The Week: Consecration- Exodus 30:30
And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office. Exodus 30:30
Meditation/Action
The Christian life is a consecrated life. It is a godly life consecrated unto God. Consecration is giving yourself up completely to God forever. It is a life totally surrendered, submitted, dedicated and wholly given to God without reservations. That is what the believer’s life is.
A consecrated life is totally yielded to God. Such a life has lost its will in God’s will. In consecration, we abdicate the rulership of our lives to God. The believer’s consecration is not prompted by fear but by love. We love God and by reason of that love, we submit all to Him in consecration. Our love for God is strong enough to make us totally yield all authority in our lives to Him.
Every Christian is a consecrated priest ministering unto God in the priest’s office. Just like Aaron and his sons, I Peter 2:5 says we are priests in God’s service. As Aaron and his sons were separated and consecrated unto God and His service, so are we and even much more under the New Testament. Your consecration to God as a Christian is your worship before God and unto Him. Half way consecration is no consecration and is not acceptable. God’s desire is for every Christian to live a life wholly consecrated to Him. Your consecration must be absolute, complete and also daily. That is what the Lord requires from all His children.
