Word Of The Week: Living By The Word- Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105
Meditation/Action
The Word of God must take preeminence in our lives. As Christians, we must live by God’s Word, not by the dictates of the world. The world can’t tell us how to live. Rather the Word of God does. The way of the world is not the way of the Word. The world contradicts the Word. Everything of the world is anti-God because there are dictated by the devil. If we succumb to the wicked principles, systems, beliefs and way of life of the world which is of the enemy, then we are not the Christians we claim to be.
In upholding godly principles, the Christian sometimes may be bullied by the world. That is called Christian persecution. And as such times, the Lord says we must be strong and resolute. We don’t cave in to the enemy. We hold strong to our God and to His Word. We please the Lord, not the world.
The Word of God lightens our path in a dark world. It directs and guides us in everything we do. We live by the entirety of the whole Word. You don’t take the part of the Word that suits you and leave the part that you feel doesn’t suit you. We should never be selective but must live by the whole Word in secret and in public. And when we sincerely follow and live by all of God’s Word, the illumination it gives will lead us to great success. Following God can only bring His blessings and breakthroughs. It keeps us in unity and at peace with the Supreme God. That is what the Lord calls sincere worship. That’s what He desires from His children.
