Your Faith Can!
Sometimes we are afraid we don’t have enough faith to receive what we are asking for. We are scared God won’t answer us because our faith is not big enough. That’s not true. Jesus said the smallest faith can move the biggest mountain, so don’t think that your faith is not big enough. That you believe in Jesus Christ is enough faith to accomplish anything. Your ‘tiny faith’ can do anything. It can move all mountains. With it you can take down every hurdle on your way and receive answers to all your prayers.
The sooner we start using our faith, the better. Life is full of mountains, so we might as well put our faith to use. And that’s the easiest thing to do. Mountains are there so that our God can be glorified. For that reason, He told us to believe. He loves to show His strength in our lives when we believe. The only thing He wants is for us to relax, to be at peace and at rest, trusting that He will take care of us and everything concerning us. That’s actually what faith is; being at rest and knowing that your God is in charge and that He is able. But sometimes fear tries to pop up from nowhere inside of us. Never mind. Your tiny faith is greater than the biggest fear.
Don’t stay waiting or asking for the ‘giant faith’ before you start using your faith. You already have enough faith. The disciples asked Jesus to increase their ‘tiny faith’. His response was beautiful. He didn’t go speaking into their lives and declaring increase of faith. Instead, He told them to use their ‘tiny faith’ because it does as much work. They didn’t need a ‘bigger faith’ to do exploits. Use your ‘tiny faith’. It works just as much as the ‘giant faith’. Both are anchored on Jesus Christ. It’s not the size of the faith but the power behind the faith. That power is Jesus Christ. Don’t look at the size; rather look up to Jesus Christ, the power behind the faith. With Him, Your Faith Can!
Faith makes life beautiful. Use yours, whatever size it is. Every faith works, great or small. Here is a popular story on faith. Maybe you’ve heard it before. You can read it one more time, but this time let it remind you that with Jesus, your faith can move all mountains and achieve the ‘impossible’. And if you have testimonies of what God has done in your life using your ‘mustard-seed faith’, share it with us here at Grace Reed. We will love to hear your faith story.
A small congregation in the foothills of the Great Smokies built a new sanctuary on a piece of land willed to them by a church member. Ten days before the new church was to open, the local building inspector informed the pastor that the parking lot was inadequate for the size of the building. Until the church doubled the size of the parking lot, they would not be able to use the new sanctuary.
Unfortunately, the church with its undersized parking lot had used every inch of their land except for the mountain against which it had been built. In order to build more parking spaces, they would have to move the mountain out of the back yard. Undaunted, the pastor announced the next Sunday morning that he would meet that evening with all members who had "mountain-moving faith". They would hold a prayer session asking God to remove the mountain from the back yard and to somehow provide enough money to have it paved and painted before the scheduled opening dedication service the following week
At the appointed time, 24 of the congregation's 300 members assembled for prayer. They prayed for nearly three hours. At ten o'clock the pastor said the final "Amen". "We'll open next Sunday as scheduled," he assured everyone. “God has never let us down before, and I believe He will be faithful this time too.”
The next morning as he was working in his study there came a loud knock at his door. When he called, "Come in”, a rough looking construction foreman appeared, removing his hard hat as he entered. "Excuse me, Reverend. I'm from Acme Construction Company over in the next county. We're building a huge new shopping mall over there and we need some fill dirt. Would you be willing to sell us a chunk of that mountain behind the church? We'll pay you for the dirt we remove and pave all the exposed area free of charge, if we can have it right away. We can't do anything else until we get the dirt in and allow it to settle properly."
The little church was dedicated the next Sunday as originally planned and there were far more members with "mountain-moving faith" on opening Sunday than there had been the previous week!
